
Originally from
New York, Dr. Greenspan served in the US Army from 1974 to 1977
and was stationed in West Berlin, Germany.
Dr. Greenspan attended Antioch College and
University of Massachusetts. She was a research tech/assistant
at the Farber Cancer Institute, M.I.T. and Columbia's College
of Physician and Surgeons. She attended Life College West and
completed the four-year chiropractic program leading to her doctorate
of Chiropractic. From 1987 to 1988, Dr. Greenspan did her internship
at Life College in California. While she was employed at Vernay
Laboratories in Yellow Springs, Ohio, Dr. Greenspan had a research
report on bone mineral density published.
While
in Chiropractic College, Dr. Greenspan competed on a national
level in the sport of powerlifting. In 1986, she won the championship
title for the state of California. She also sponsored the first
U.S.A. Women's Drug Free National Powerlifting Championships.
As part of her continuing commitment to total fitness, She organized
the Swannanoa Valley Health Walkers in 1989 and directed the
Annual 5K Fun Walk in Black Mountain. These days, Dr. Greenspan spends
her spare time bicycle riding in the mountains of Western North Carolina.
Dr. Greenspan is a past president of the North
Carolina Chiropractic Association, Western District and the Blue
Ridge Chiropractic Society, past chairperson, Chiropractic Division
of United Way. She is a regular columnist for the Asheville Citizen
Times and has appeared on WLOS,
Channel 13 Noon News as the Chiropractic Doctor on Call.
Dr.
Greenspan has won every major award in Buncombe County for providing
quality care and getting results. She was voted "1995 Best
Chiropractor in Western North Carolina," by Mountain Express
readers, and "1993 Best Chiropractor in the Mountains,"
by Asheville Citizen Times readers.
